Top 10 Places to Study in Singapore That’ll Help You Stay on Track and Productive
When I was in college, studying at home just wasn’t working for me. My room was full of distractions, and being in such a familiar environment made it hard to concentrate.
I needed a place that would help me clear my mind and actually feel productive.
So, I started heading out. I’d bring my laptop and notes and just explore—cafes, libraries, even random corners of malls—anywhere that gave me some peace and a good seat.
Eventually, I found a handful of places around Singapore where I could focus for hours without constantly checking my phone or dozing off.
Even now, when I need to get things done, I go back to those spots. Many of these are just surprisingly relaxing places that help me tune in.
If you’re like me and need to step out to really concentrate, these study spots around Singapore might be exactly what you’re looking for.
1. Cosy Corner – Private Working Space

Address: 03-15, Jalan Besar Plaza, 101 Kitchener Road

Hours: Daily – 8AM to 11PM
One of the first places I found that really helped me zone in was Cosy Corner. It’s not your usual café or library—think of it more like a cross between a quiet hideout and a co-working space.
Each person gets their own little soundproofed room, which means no distractions, no overhearing random Zoom meetings, and no one listening in on your group study session either.
They’ve got flexible membership plans too, but if you’re just testing it out, it starts at $4 an hour. That’s cheaper than most café drinks, honestly.
Everything feels super low-effort—you walk in, settle down, and you’re good to go.
It’s ideal when you’re deep in revision mode or need to take calls without background noise. Definitely one of the comfiest places I’ve come across for solo study days.
Pro Tip: Bring your own headphones or earplugs, just in case. The rooms are soundproofed, but if you’re easily distracted or plan to take calls, having your own setup helps you stay in the zone.
2. The Book Cafe

Hours:
- Monday and Tuesday – 8:30AM to 5:30PM
- Wednesday to Sunday – 8:30AM to 9:30PM
When I don’t want to be suffocated by a closed-off space and just want somewhere chill with a bit of background buzz, I head to The Book Cafe.
The vibe here is great. It’s got that soft hum that helps you focus—not dead silence, but not loud either.
There’s comfy seating, warm lighting, and a shelf full of books you can flip through when you need a break. The music’s mellow, and there’s even a little corner that’s nice for reading or just zoning out for a bit.
And one of the best parts is that it doesn’t get overly crowded, even during lunch hours, so you won’t be fighting for a table.
They’ve got free Wi-Fi and plenty of plug points too—staying for hours is no problem.
And if you get hungry, there’s a menu with lots of food and drink options to keep you going.
Pro Tip: Go early if you can—there’s a weekday breakfast promo before 11 AM where you can top up just $3 for a coffee with any breakfast item. It’s a nice little perk if you’re planning to settle in for a morning study session.
3. Huggs Collective

Phone: +65 6283 9288
Hours:
- Monday to Friday – 8AM to 9PM
- Saturday and Sunday – 10AM to 9PM
Huggs has been around since 2008, and you can tell they’ve figured out what works. What started as a simple cafe has grown into a cozy coworking spot that’s clearly designed with regulars in mind.
It’s got quiet booths where you can actually focus without feeling like you’re in a rigid work environment. The space has a steady flow—calm enough to concentrate, but not so quiet that it feels awkward to type or sip your drink.
I personally like the outdoor seating. It’s a good option for when you need a breather or just want a bit of natural light while you work.
Their coffee’s pretty solid too—they roast their own beans—and there’s a good selection of artisanal drinks as well.
The affordable snacks make it easier to stay fueled without having to leave in search of food, which really helps if you’re trying to stay in the zone.
Pro Tip: Just a heads up though: there aren’t any plug points, so you’ll want to come with your devices fully charged.
4. National Library Building

Some days, I just need absolute quiet—and that’s when I go straight to the National Library Building. It’s easily one of the most peaceful places I’ve studied in.
If even light café chatter messes with your focus, this place is a lifesaver. Everyone’s here to get things done, so there’s this shared quiet energy that helps you settle in.
It’s completely free to enter, which makes it one of the most accessible spots around if you don’t want to spend on a drink just to use a table.
The space is also incredibly clean and well-maintained. The study areas are bright and well-lit, with tables facing leafy green plants—it feels calming without being distracting.
You’ll find plenty of seats, power outlets, and even comfy sofas if you want to switch it up.
Their collection of books is amazing too, many of which can be used to supplement your studies.
Pro Tip: Make sure to book your table at least a day in advance—spots fill up pretty quickly, especially during peak hours.
5. library@harbourfront

Address: 1 HarbourFront Walk, #03-05 VivoCity, Floor 3
Email: [email protected]
Hours: Daily – 11AM to 9PM
library@harbourfront might just be the chillest spot I’ve found inside a shopping mall. It’s right in VivoCity, but despite all the crowds outside, the library stays calm and peaceful.
I’d say the sea view alone makes it worth the visit—floor-to-ceiling windows look straight out toward Sentosa, and it somehow makes studying feel a little less stressful.
There’s a good mix of seating throughout the space. You’ll find proper desks in some areas and smaller tables tucked near the shelves, though those tend to get taken fast.
Still, most people there are quietly reading, working, or studying, so the overall environment is focused.
They’ve got a self-checkout gantry at the entrance, which lets you scan and borrow books without queuing—super convenient when you’re in a rush.
Although, the book selection isn’t huge compared to other libraries, so I wouldn’t come here if I needed lots of references.
Pro Tip: There are plenty of seats around the library, but if you need a proper table, it’s best to reserve one through the MyLibrary app. Most of the tabled spots can be booked, so securing one ahead of time saves you the trouble of hunting for a good spot.
6. Tampines Regional Library

Hours: Daily – 10AM to 9PM
Tampines Regional Library is where you walk in planning to study, but end up staying longer just because there’s so much going on.
I found it incredibly cool that it spans five floors, with different zones for kids, teens, adults, and seniors. Each level has its own vibe, and somehow it all flows properly without feeling messy.
The study areas are well thought out—tons of tables, sofas, and even terrace seating if you want fresh air while you work. Some spots overlook the artificial turf pitch at Our Tampines Hub, which is oddly calming to look at during mid-study sessions.
There’s strong Wi-Fi, charging stations, and even dedicated computer zones if you don’t bring your own device. I didn’t try out the other amenities like the cooking studios, but it’s nice knowing there’s more to explore here.
Pro Tip: It can get pretty cold inside, so it’s best to bring a sweater.
7. The General Room – TripleOne Somerset

Hours:
- Monday to Friday – 9AM to 6PM
- Saturday and Sunday – Closed
If you’re around Orchard Road and need a more structured space to focus, The General Room at TripleOne Somerset is a great alternative to the usual cafés and libraries.
It’s a coworking space, but still feels approachable for students—calm, comfortable, and not overly corporate.
The ambiance is clean and classy, and the lighting’s just right—not the usual harsh fluorescents that make you squint or feel drained.
I tried the hot desk first, and it was nice having different setups to choose from, depending on whether I needed to work alone or huddle up with a friend.
They even include things like a USB-C to HDMI adapter at the dedicated desks, which feels surprisingly thoughtful. I found some monitors, comfy chairs, and quiet discussion corners around too.
There’s even free-flow coffee and tea in the pantry, which is a lifesaver on long days.
Pro Tip: Try their free trial before committing—it’s a good way to test out the space and see if the setup works for you.
8. The Hive Lavender

Hours:
- Monday to Friday – 8AM to 6PM
- Saturday and Sunday – Closed
After bouncing between cafés that were either too cold, too loud, or just packed to the brim, The Hive at Tanjong Pagar was a refreshing change. It’s a coworking space with an open layout that feels airy but still quiet enough to concentrate.
What I liked most was how much natural light the place gets—it helps with staying awake and focused. The rustic interior adds a nice touch, and it doesn’t feel too stiff or formal, which makes it easy to settle into work mode.
There are all kinds of spaces here—hot desks, booth desks, meeting rooms, and even a photography studio if you’re into creative work. It’s spacious, visually pleasing, and has enough quiet corners for solo study or group projects.
While it runs on membership plans, the hot desks are reasonably priced for the location.
Pro Tip: Grab a seat near the windows if you can, since the natural light makes a big difference when you’re trying to stay focused for long hours.
9. Singapore Botanic Gardens

When I need a break from screens and being cooped up indoors, I like going to the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Just being around all that greenery makes it easier to focus or slow down.
There are plenty of quiet corners throughout the gardens, so you’re not stuck searching for a decent spot.
Palm Valley is one of the better ones if you’re planning to sit on the grass. It’s a wide, open space with enough room to spread out, and it usually stays peaceful even when the park’s a bit busier.
Near Eco Lake, you’ll find open lawns with shade. The Bandstand area is also nice, with benches, swings, and tree cover that make it feel hidden.
Another thing I really appreciate—it’s completely free to enter. No pressure to spend on anything, which makes it easy to pop by whenever you need a change of scene.
Pro Tip: Bring a mat or something to sit on if you’re planning to study on the grass, and don’t forget water and bug spray, just in case.
10. Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park

Address: 1384 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1
Hours: Open 24/7
Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park is where I head whenever I crave some sunshine and fresh air while getting work done. The park’s huge, so it’s not hard to find a quiet spot by the river, under a shady tree, or stretched out on one of the long benches.
Some areas come with tables, making it more convenient if you’re planning to write or use your laptop. I usually go for the riverside platforms—they’re calm, and every now and then you might spot birds or even otters passing by.
It’s also one of the cleanest parks I’ve been to. It’s bright and well-maintained, and I didn’t get a single mosquito bite even after a long afternoon there.
There’s a nice rhythm to the place too. You’ll notice that people are either jogging, doing tai chi, or reading quietly.
Pro Tip: You should go in the morning or late afternoon when it’s cooler.
