Staycations weren’t something I’d given much thought to as a local until I helped a client plan a vacation in Singapore. They wanted a place that offered a break from the usual while still allowing them to experience the city.
I spent a few days touring the top staycation spots in Singapore, exploring hotels and resorts that brought on something unique. After visiting these, I had a clearer sense of which ones would suit different types of travelers.
Now, when anyone asks for recommendations, I’m ready with a list of the best places to stay—great for those looking to slow down or discover more of Singapore.

Marina Bay Sands is an iconic hotel that has become a symbol of the city’s skyline, known for its striking design and world-class amenities.
What I love most about this hotel is the stunning views, which are visible from almost every corner of the property. You can rest in one of the rooms or explore the SkyPark Observation Deck, and you’ll still be exposed to the panoramic views.
Another amenity worth noting would be the infinity pool on the 57th floor. It’s got this cool illusion where the water just seems to flow right into the city below.
The hotel also boasts impressive dining options, including Wolfgang Puck, renowned for its premium steaks.
You can even head up to Spago on the rooftop where you can enjoy gourmet dishes like wood-fired pizzas.
Pro Tip: If you’re looking for some fun, be sure to check out their casino!

Established in 1887, Raffles Hotel is one of the oldest and most celebrated hotels in Singapore.
They’re known for their colonial-style architecture and storied past, which includes hosting many famous guests over the years, such as Noel Coward and Somerset Maugham.
Raffles offers spacious and thoughtfully designed luxury suites, showcasing the hotel’s colonial heritage with high ceilings, marble bathrooms, and rich wood furniture.
Alongside their design, they also provide modern comforts like smart technology and plush bedding.
I personally loved the option of a curated dining experience, such as a customized menu with wine pairings at one of their signature restaurants, Long Bar.
Pro Tip: Book one of the premium suites for an exclusive stay, complete with a personalized butler service.

Capella Singapore, located on Sentosa Island, was originally a colonial military barracks, but over the years, the hotel was transformed into a first-rate resort while preserving its heritage.
The resort features 38 villas, and each one comes with its outdoor terrace and private plunge pool, so you’ve got your own little private oasis to chill in.
The villas are super spacious and equipped with modern amenities. I knew I had to check these out myself, so they allowed me to view their high-tech entertainment systems and large bathrooms with soaking tubs!
After a day of adventure, you can indulge in a spa treatment at Auriga Spa, which takes inspiration from the lunar cycle. I recommend the Energy Balance Journey treatment, where therapists use essential oils to align your body’s energy for revitalization.
Pro Tip: Take advantage of the property’s tropical rainforest—it’s the perfect setting for a peaceful guided nature walk or to unwind with a wellness program.

Found along the Singapore River, The Warehouse Hotel displays its industrial-chic design with exposed brick walls, steel beams, and vintage furnishings. Interestingly enough, the hotel is housed in what used to be a storage warehouse.
Its transformation has preserved the original structure while introducing more modern elements. But it honestly could’ve fooled me, it’s actually pretty stylish and comfy in there.
One of my favorite features is the rooftop infinity pool. With views overlooking the river and the city, it’s a great spot to just enjoy the surroundings.
For dining, the hotel boasts a stylish bar, Po Restaurant, where you can enjoy a range of cocktails.
One of their signature drinks, the Spicy Mango Margarita, is something I’d urge people to try. This cocktail’s got the sweetness of ripe mango with a touch of chili, paired with tequila and lime juice for a zesty flavor.
Pro Tip: Take one of the rooms on the upper floor since some ground-floor rooms have limited natural light.

What I love about this hotel is the peaceful retreat feel, especially with the serene garden spaces that surround it.
These green spaces are ideal for leisurely walks, reading a book, or simply enjoying the natural beauty of the environment, all while being sheltered from the noise of the city.
Though it feels like a peaceful sanctuary, Lloyd’s Inn is just a stone’s throw from Orchard Road, so you’re never far from shopping, dining, and entertainment.

Another boutique staycation spot would be The Scarlet Hotel. I was quite fond of their rooms. Adorned with eclectic decor, they combined vintage furniture and bold colors to create a visually appealing and welcoming environment.
This mix of old and new makes each room feel unique. The carefully selected pieces, such as antique wooden chairs and abstract paintings, bring the space to life.
You’re also welcome to enjoy the rooftop bar, Barouv, where you can sip on expertly crafted cocktails. The menu includes drinks like the Scarlet Spritz, which is a refreshing combination of Aperol, prosecco, and citrus.

The resort also provides a kids’ club with various activities tailored to different age groups.
As for meals, you’ve got the Silver Shell Café, where you can find your way to a buffet that has food from Western to Asian dishes.

The hotel has a cool play area on the ground floor too. It’s got stuff like trampolines and LEGO building blocks.
I also found out that each child gets a goodie bag with fun items, complimentary breakfast, and access to the swimming pool and playroom!
In terms of food options, Furama provides perks such as a buffet lunch or dinner at The Square@Furama or Kintamani Indonesian Restaurant at a discounted rate for families.

After settling into your room, head up to the 30th floor, where the Sky Pool awaits. I find it an ideal spot to cool down with a dip in the infinity pool or by soaking in the jacuzzi.
I’ve also heard the food at The Clan Hotel is really impressive. QIN Restaurant & Bar brings the best of both worlds by using Asian spices and traditional recipes to enhance more Western dishes.
